The Avanti Choral Mentorship Program invites singers between the ages of 17 and 24 to build their vocal skills and expand their musical knowledge through active participation in Avanti Singers. This program is designed for singers looking to take their choral experience to the next level. Those selected for the program will participate as full members of the choir, engaging in all choir-related activities, including but not limited to rehearsals, performances and special projects throughout the concert season.
Applicants will be expected to audition as part of the application process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in developing choral skills
- Experience in a choir or other larger ensemble
- Ability to read music with commitment to developing sight-reading skills
- Willingness to collaborate and contribute as an active ensemble member
COMMITMENT & OPPORTUNITIES
- Attendance at all rehearsals, events, and performances
- Independent learning of the music
- Small ensemble performances with other mentorship program singers at each concert, including bi-weekly coaching sessions prior to rehearsal
- Half-hour weekly coaching sessions prior to full choir rehearsal
- Mentorship and guidance from a designated member of your voice section
