This is the story of Matthew Shepard, a young student who in 1998 was the victim of an anti-gay hate crime. Craig Hella Johnson’s oratorio Considering Matthew Shepard weaves together a wide variety of musical styles with narration to draw both singer and audience into the deep tragedy and profound hope of this passion story.
